(remember, that was written in 1908, not necessary to pitch a fit)

" When the father of a family perceives his muscles become flaccid and. his hair gray, and sees the child of his child, let him then seek refuge in a forest."  Aw  ........... I'll miss granddad ......

Tonsure so their child can get into med school: http://thescijo.blogspot.com/2009/04/what-happens-to-temple-tonsure-hair.html

Is someone's weave gratitude for the next Dr. Patel?

And tonsure as punishment: http://www.countercurrents.org/comm-dayal230204.htm

Though Orthodox Jewish women cannot accept this hair in wigs, it seems to be the mainstay of the Afro-American hair industry.

I know of several women who have decided to shave their heads as an expression of liberation (usually at a women's neo-pagan consciousness raising something or other)

Have you ever completely shaved your head?  What did you do with the hair?  How did you feel?

Was the head-shaving voluntary or involuntary (surgery or disease, identity_related, or punishment-related)?

Did you ever go hairless gradually (baldness or chemo) and how would that be different from instantly and deliberately?
