Henna a Banjo?

 Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone knows if I could henna my banjo. It's a normal banjo, and I thought that since it is like a drum head I could. However, I'm not sure if they treat it with something weird that would prevent a stain from forming.

Thanks!

Jenna

My musician husband tells me that the head on a banjo is generally made from a plastic now rather than real skin. That wouldn't take henna well if at all. Do you know what your's is made of?

No, I bought it used. Is there any test I can do on it to tell whether it is skin or plastic?

Why not just do a spot test? Spot a bit of henna onto an unobtrusive place and see if it stains. If it doesn't, then you have your answer.
