shampoo question

Hi all,

I am wondering how henna shampoos work?  For example Nature's Gate Henna Shine shampoo does contain henna ( Lawsonia Inermis (Henna/henné) Flower/Fruit/Leaf Extract) and imparts shine without imparting color.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Glo

The henna in the shampoo most

The henna in the shampoo most likely does very little, if anything at all. Henna has to be freshly mixed or kept cold in order to work, and be applied to hair for much longer than it takes to lather and rinse. Most likely it's just thrown in there to make the product sound more appealing.

A Gold by any other name?

Ya, I guess kinda like the Gold in Goldschläger?

Still, I wonder about the form of said henna in shampoo being an extract?

A mystery.

An "extract" can be anything

An "extract" can be anything as simple as pressing, soaking, or boiling a plant and collecting the stuff that comes out. There might not even be lawsone in it.

Oh, okay, I gettit now.

Oh, okay, I gettit now.  Thank you for extract explanation.  SO, even if material is already spent, as long as an extraction / pressing is made, no matter the %  or actual strength, it is worthy of mention on the label.  Thanks again.
