Royal Wedding Hats....

Nearly every guest at the recent Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton wore a hat.....and there was a lot of discussion about one hat in particular: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/29/princess-beatrice-hat-worst_n_855657.html

Some commentators remarked that 'it would have been ok for Lady GaGa'.... interesting how some people have a licence from society to dress differently, but others don't....

What do you think of her hat?

I think when you wear a hat like that you are trying to get attention. It kind of makes me sad and I'm not sure why. Hasn't that family had a lot of turmoil in the past?

Just do a Google image search for Princess Beatrice, and you'll see there are worse ways to try to get attention than wearing a ridiculous hat...

Well, I think it's hideous - but I also think when you wear something like that you are screaming for attention. It makes me kind of sad and I'm not entirely sure why. Doesn't that family have some issues?

As for Lady Gaga, don't even get me started....

My ten year old daughter and I hated that hat so much we were momentarily distracted from the wedding for cracking on it... Imagine, it was sooooooooo bad it distracted a 10 yr old girl from a real-live princess wedding!

I know that we have the right to dress what we want but you should dress properly depending on the occasion. The wedding was a media sensation, I read this here: Royal wedding mania beginning to reach fever pitch.

So I don't think that her hat was appropriate because it doesn't look good and she's attending a formal occasion and not a costume party.

Royal wedding hats are one of the fashion highlights of the royal wedding. But in terms of drinks,Royal Wedding beverages are bound to be delicious. Champagne is a common wedding drink. According to New York Times’ Eric Asimov, there were several choices Prince Kate and William Middleton had for the wedding. Some of these might require you to take out a payday loan just to drink.

Re: Royal Wedding Hats....

I know they paid for the wedding themselves rather than using tax payer money, but I also read that the British people fund the Royal Family at $41 million per year and that the queen is asking for a raise. What the heck?? You would think with all the rioting that went on with them deciding to raise college tuition that they would just get rid of the Royals and save that money. I don't really understand what they do???

I hear your point, to say the least, but I'm thinkin' here at home in the good ole USA I pay a lot of useless people with my taxes, and no one ever covered my tuition any more than a loan with an slightly lower interest rate.

I might be the only person on the planet who was not terribly bothered by "the hat".  Sure it's unconventional and certainly not something I'd wear, but I really don't think it's all that bad.  Especially if she was happy with how she looked in it.  And really, in the big scheme of things, it's just a hat.  It's not like she's considering having it permenantly attached.

Nope, I'm right along with you, I just couldn't find the right words to express it, and felt like that everyone hated it so much, maybe I was just completely delusional and missing some key element.  There were many extravagent hats worn at the wedding, and though it might not be something I would wear, she seemed to like it.

Now if she wore jeans to the wedding, that would be a different story...
