meccan henna

I was browsing around the henna info and came across info about meccan henna. Is it still sold here or has it been replaced with a comparable henna?

It stains nails and skin so red, I wonder what it could do for hair? Was it mixed a special way to get it that color?

Re: meccan henna

I have to start by saying that the views in that article are specifically of the artist. Really Meccan henna is nothing more than henna purchased on a pilgrimage to Mecca. The henna could originate from anywhere. It good be course or fine, strong or week.

Its also important to note that henna that gives red stains on hands and feet indicates that it is lower in dye content. Just like with hair, henna for body art gives darkest results with high dye content, reddest results with medium dye content, and copper or orange results with lower dye content.
