Amla

Ok so I purchased some amla from mehandi and I want to know can this be applied by itself to my hair or do I have to mix it with henna?

Re: Amla

You can use it by itself on hair for body and shine, or on your skin as an exfoliating treatment, or mixed with henna, in which case it will help preserve curls and waves that might otherwise be lost with multiple henna treatments.

Some instructions are in the store:  http://www.mehandi.com/shop/amla/

and we also have an FAQ about amla here:  http://forums.hennapage.com/node/60

How much amla by itself should I use. I don't want to mix it with the henna because I don't want it to change the red.

Re: Amla

I used only about 25 gm and made into a very thin, soupy liquid - more of a rinse than a paste. You could make it yogurt-thick like a paste if you prefer but I got a lot of effects using just 25 gm for past-shoulder length hair, mixed with about 1 cup (or more) of water.
